FotoNest uses MobileFaceNet on your phone to recognize family faces. The named people are visible only to you by default—if Mom names "baby", Dad doesn't see that label on his phone.
Want to share with family? Toggle "Share with family" on the person detail page. What gets shared is the AI feature vector (which cannot reconstruct the original photo), and Dad's phone can then match the same baby under that album's rules. Separately, when you add photos to a shared album, if faces are detected we ask for your consent first before uploading those feature vectors, so members with add permission can filter by person.
Once you've named family members, smart albums gain real power—"family portraits before baby's first birthday", "photos with grandpa", "group shots of 3+ people". Natural language to photos, in one breath.
